Requirements

No entry requirements needed but need to have completed level 1 (basic level) first you must be working in a Health or Social Care setting and have at least 6 months practical experience as a Care Assistant/ Health Care Assistant. A partnership agreement will be needed to be signed by your workplace manager.

For students seeking careers in the Health and Social Care Industries at local, national and international levels. Students may progress to careers in social work, residential and day care, nursing and other careers in health and social care.

How will I be assessed

Throughout the course, your program will consist of work support and distance learning support in your workplace.

As assessor will be appointed to assess you in your workplace.

You will need to present a portfolio of your evidence for verification

Progression

Care Practice will be assessed by fully approved and qualified Workplace Assessors. This assessment will be carried out during Phase 2 and occur within the placement workplace. Students will be expected to build up a Portfolio of Evidence which requires writing reports about their practice, answering written and oral questions and other written material. Records of Directly Observed Practice will be supplied by the Workplace Assessor for inclusion in the Students Portfolio.

Final Assessment and presentation for the NVQ Care Level 2 / 3 Award will depend upon successful completion of the Portfolio to the standard accepted by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority covering the required components.
