Course Description

An intensive short course to cover the main requirements for the prevention of fires, the action to take in response to an alarm and how to raise the alarm in the event of a fire being discovered.

Aims & Objectives

At the end of the course, each student will have received training in the following subject areas: Human Behaviour, good housekeeping, fire hazard spotting, means of escape in case of a fire, evacuation procedures, cause spread of fire and extinguisher theory and practical.

Half day Fire Awareness- Human Behaviour, good house keeping, means of escape is case of a fire, causes spread of fire and extinguisher theory and practical.

Basic Fire Awareness / Extinguishers- Causes spread of fire, extinguisher theory and practical. Each of the sessions will include: identification of extinguishers, advantages and disadvantages of different types of extinguisher and fire fighting practical use of extinguishers.

Outcome of the Course
  • Prevent fires occurring by training staff in fire prevention measures
  • Reduce the number of false alarms and business interruption
  • Comply with the obligations under health & safety Law, Fire regulations and Fire Certificates
  • Staff are competent in the use of first response fire fighting equipment
