Course Description

Manual handling will help provide students with the necessary knowledge and training, as well as providing guidance in the interest of health and safety. This course should help to prevent injuries in a workplace, making the working environment a much pleasant and safer place to work.

Aims & Objectives

At the end of the course each student will be able to:

  • Understand the legal responsibilities with regard to manual handling
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the basic anatomy of the spine and state the risks due to incorrect manual handling operations
  • Identify correct and incorrect manual handling techniques within the work environment
  • Recognise his/her own limitations in relation to manual handling

On successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of attendance which may be used for continued professional development.
